2025 Senior & Junior Finals Results Sunday 31st August

DIV1 GF Game 1: Dodgers v Falcons
Dodgers 1's took on Falcons in game one of the best of three grand final series on Sunday at Albert Roy Reserve.

Looking to defend their 2024 grand final victory, Dodgers jumped out to an early lead thanks to key hits to Aaron Petri and Callum Bolton plating three runs.

Bolton took to the mound for the 1's, putting in an epic performance retiring the first nine Falcons hitters including four strikeouts.

Dodgers consistently hit throughout the game adding three runs in the second inning and five runs in the third to extend their lead to 11-0. Offensive contributions came from many with Jack Warner, Julian Howe, Callum Bolton, Aaron Petri and Zac Cruse all having multi-hit games to propel Dodgers to a 13-4 victory.

Backed by solid defense, Bolton gave way to Petri on the mound in the last inning to shut Falcons down handing the 1's a 1-0 lead heading into Game 2 of the best of 3 series on Sunday.

Hits: 3 Callum Bolton, Aaron Petri 2 Jack Warner, Julian Howe, Zac Cruse 1 Brett Ritchie, Rod Baulch, Nick Whatley, Travis Shanahan

DIV 2 Semi-Final Dodgers v East
Congrats to our Div 2 team who have made it to the Grand Final next Sunday after a 7-2 win over East.
Initially a pitching duel, the innings ran parallel for several innings. The score stood at 1 each for three innings then East scored 1 in them fourth to take the lead. However, the Dodger bats woke in the bottom of the fifth to record 5 hits with the 4 walks and we scored 6 runs. East had their chance in the, top of the 6th inning but could only record 1 run before time and game was called.
Jesse Hando pitched 46 balls and 67 strikes, (113 pitches!) recording 11 K2s, 5 BB and 3 HPB. He had 2 hits and scored 1 run.
Our Skip had a single, double and triple from his 3 plate appearance (slugging 2 bases every plate appearance and on base every time too.) …. Of course his next would have been a home run for the cycle, wouldn’t it have Skip? He batted in 2 runs.
Sam, behind the plate, made 11 outs in the pitching duel. He also scored a run. It was very pleasing to see Sam encourage, reassure, and talk tactics with his pitcher.
Other mentions …
Jackson Harris on Base .667 scoring 2 of our 7 runs.
Craig Eeles hitting .667, scoring 1 run, with 1 RBI
Travis Shanahan hitting .333, scoring a run, with 2 RBI
Des Mennie on base .667
Eden Hardy had some hits which were unfortunately caught. (next week Eden)
Kristian Rogers on base .667 with an RBI
It was pleasing to hear the amount of support and encouragement from the dugout to the Dodger batters.
Well done Div 2 and good luck next week.
D3 Semi-Final Dodger Devils v Rangers
The D3 Semi-final against Elphinstone Rangers started off with some great pitching from B Poulten and fielding with a result of 3 up, 3 down.
Unfortunately it took a while to get the bats swinging, with no runs scored till the 3rd innings where the 1st run was scored.

By the fifth innings, with 2 pitch changes along the way - D Pithie and S Shanahan had managed to close the gap with the scores being 6-8 CV Rangers way.

Sadly with a pitch change for CV Rangers, the game was lost in the batting box with only 1 more run being scored by P Diss, resulting in the final score being 13-7

Dodgers Devils should be proud of how they've played this year with a few new, and some still learning players.

It has been a great year of baseball. Go Dodgers
U13 GF Dodgers v Falcons
Our Under 13 Devils came up just short in their U13 Grand Final vs Falcons on Sunday going down 7-3.

With Henry Stewart-Eeles on the mound, hopes were high as the young hurler keep Falcons in check during his outing giving up just 3 runs before his pitch count forced a change.

Our kids gave it their all in the box with hits to Henry Stewart-Eeles and Will Mangan keeping Dodgers in the game and tied at 3 all.
Isaac Smith behind the plate battled hard for his team while Rupert Stewart-Eeles effort on the mound kept the team in the hunt for win.

It was not be however, as Falcons hit the ball when it mattered pulling away in the last innings to secure a much deserved win in an entertaining and tense game.
A fantastic effort in 2025 by the team to develop their skills and make it to the last game of the season.
Bigger and better things ahead for this group of little legends.
