Dodgers made the score 4-1 in the top of the fourth after Nick Whatley tripled, scoring three runs, and Anthony Amsing doubled, scoring one run.
Callum Bolton earned the win for Dodgers. The southpaw surrendered four hits and two runs (one earned) over four and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking four.
Darryl Muns took the loss for Falcons. The starting pitcher went five innings, giving up seven runs on eight hits, striking out one and walking six.
Aaron Petri appeared in relief for Dodgers.
Anthony Amsing, Jack Warner, and Nick Whatley each collected two hits for Dodgers.
Dodgers had patience at the plate, accumulating six walks for the game.
Number seven hitter, Nathan Larson, showed the depth of Falcons lineup, by leading them with two hits in three at bats. Darryl Muns and Deon Strahan each drove in one run for Falcons.
When Zac Cruse took care of a routine flyball in the bottom of the 5th with two outs, Dodgers claimed the 2025 Grand Final best of three series 2-0 and in the process secured a historic three-peat after winning the 2023 and 2024 premiership flags, the first time that this has been done since the club was founded in 1964.
Following an emphatic win by the Dodgers Division 2 team 4-2 earlier that morning in their Grand Final also against Falcons, this season will be remembered fondly by players, volunteer’s and supporters alike for many years to come.
